Chi-Hsiang (Shawn) Hung is the founder of Happenus and creator/host of the Happenus Podcast. A certified systems thinking practitioner from the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology (MIT), Shawn is Taiwan’s representative at the 2024 Jane Goodall Institute Global Coordination Meeting, combining knowledge systems of mind and nature in environmental education and wildlife conservation.
Based in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, Shawn’s previous roles include Research Fellow in neurotechnology at Taiwan’s Ministry of Science and Technology, Advisor and Lecturer on system dynamics at National Cheng Kung University’s talent hubs, and Researcher at Taiwan’s first international public policy think tank, the Center for Asia-Pacific Resilience and Innovation (CAPRI).
After establishing an academic mental health program at the Department of Psychology at National Cheng Kung University in 2021, Shawn led the National Youth Deliberative Democracy Forum in partnership with Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, contributing to legislative reforms that expanded online counseling services for over one million youth during the COVID-19 pandemic.
An active participant in the Philosophical Society of England’s reading group, his interdisciplinary pursuits encompass ecopsychology, philosophy, and cinema, emphasizing a holistic approach to understanding human interconnectivity with the environment.
